Connection to the FIBRESPEED communications network has equipped employees in a Deeside company to work more efficiently, saving time and money.
It has also enabled non-mechanical industrial services provider NSG UK to ensure it can maintain its traditionally quick responses and high level of service to customers.
NSG UK has been a leader in its market since 1971. It provides scaffolding access systems, insulation, painting, coatings, blasting, and industrial cleaning. With a £20m annual turnover, it boasts customers across the UK.
However, in recent times, the company’s ADSL broadband had started to become inadequate for the growing company’s needs.
Then, it turned to FIBRESPEED, which uses state-of-the-art fibre optic technology to carry vast amounts of data at close to the speed of light. In contrast, ADSL uses standard phone lines, has limited bandwidth, slows down if more people use it, and has much slower upload than download speed.
NSG connected via FIBRESPEED service partner Carrier Wales’ wireless access network – and hasn’t looked back.
IT Manager with NSG, Phil Marsden, said: “Our previous ASDL broadband was slower and would disconnect from time to time. Now, like our scaffolding, the new system is so stable people hardly believe it! We installed it on a trial basis initially, but it proved so fast that we had no hesitation in signing up to a long-term contract. We can quickly access all the files we need in an instant. Everyone has commented how much better it is and that it saves them time.”
Bangor-based Carrier Wales was one of the first service partners to commit to the FIBRESPEED network. The technical experts among its 20-strong team boast a wealth of knowledge and experience in all aspects of voice, data and mobile communication solutions.
Carrier Wales has maximum flexibility, enabling it to design, build and manage an organisation’s connectivity requirements from the ground up. This allows customers to build what they want, not what a supplier decides to give them.
Carrier Wales Managing Director John Prescott said: “The feedback from staff at NSG has been fantastic. We’re delighted that our connection has improved their ability to work efficiently, and therefore we also hope, to the company’s bottom line.”
A successful Welsh Government intervention project, FIBRESPEED is a strategic asset of the Welsh nation. With a headline investment of £30m, it delivers business grade telecoms services to more than 185 businesses in north Wales via its network of service partners.
